Welcome to the website of the Shelby County
United Way. This is our 52nd year of
serving the citizens, organizations, and companies
of Shelby County. Over this period of time the
needs and issues in our community have changed
but the volunteers, staff and Board of Trustees
continue to be committed in making a positive
impact for all of our citizens' quality of life.
Our theme this year is Standing Together...
Living United. Our vision is to identify,
evaluate, and make possible the human services
in our community, and our mission statement is
to lead collaborative efforts in building a better
community.
Today the Shelby County United Way collaborates and funds many nonprofit agencies and organizations in the community. These agencies serve people of all ages, from the youngest to the oldest in the impact areas of Investing in Children and Youth, Strengthening Families and Individuals, Promoting Health and Well Being, Enriching the Lives of Seniors, and Caring for People in Crisis.

2009 Campaign Slogan :
The Board of Trustees
have approved the campaign slogan of “Standing
Together… Living United” as our
theme for this year. With the current economic situation
what better action can we do as a community as to stand
side-by-side with our neighbors and fellow-man to support
each other during these difficult and very unusual times.
Over the past few
years United Way of America has adopted the slogan,
LIVE UNITED! By “Standing
Together… Living United” all of
us will overcome the hardships which America faces.
The 2009 Shelby County United Way Campaign is currently
in progress. Ms. Cindy Helman has accepted the challenge
to lead our campaign. Cindy is a former Board of
Trustee member and Past President of the board.
She is in the process of forming her campaign team.
A Kickoff Luncheon will be held on September 10th
at the American Legion Hall in Sidney. The campaign
will run through November 12th when the Finale Luncheon
will be held at the Sidney VFW Hall to announce
the results. Contact the office if you would like
