How Can I Contribute to United Way Services?

Due to the non-profit status of the United Way and its agencies, donors may give to United Way during the annual campaign, or year-round in bequests, or planned giving arrangements, and may be able to deduct some or all of their gifts on individual itemized returns.

Contribution Type		Description and Benefits

Payroll Deduction		Your employer's Payroll or Human Resources Department automatically deducts an amount of money that you determine from your check each payday. This method of giving is easy and requires little effort on the donor's part. If your company does not participate in our Annual Fall Campaign, you may donate directly to our office.

One-Time Cash Gift		You may make cash gifts to the United Way at any time. By sending a check by mail or dropping off a cash donation during our office hours. The United Way address is: Shelby County United Way; 121 E. North Street; P.O. Box 751; Sidney, Ohio 45365. Our office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm.

Leadership Giving		Leadership Giving describes donations of $500 or more. This option may offer you tax advantages. Please visit our Cornerstone Society page for more information.

Planned Giving and Endowment Gifts		Donating through charitable trusts may also offer you tax advantages, as well as making permanent investments in the quality of life in Shelby County.

All monies raised by the Shelby County United Way support operational costs of member agencies, community programs, designations (donor choice) outside the county, and operational costs of this agency. An annual audit is completed each fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) by a certified public accountant.
