Welcome to the website of the Shelby County
United Way. This is our 54th year of
serving the citizens, organizations, and companies
of Shelby County. Over this period of time the
needs and issues in our community have changed
but the volunteers, staff and Board of Trustees
continue to be committed in making a positive
impact for all of our citizens' quality of life.
Our theme this year is Growing Together – the United Way. Our vision is to identify,
evaluate, and make possible the human services
in our community, and our mission statement is
to lead collaborative efforts in building a better
community.
Today the Shelby County United Way collaborates and funds many nonprofit agencies and organizations in the community. These agencies serve people of all ages, from the youngest to the oldest in the impact areas of Investing in Children and Youth, Strengthening Families and Individuals, Promoting Health and Well Being, Enriching the Lives of Seniors, and Caring for People in Crisis.

2011 Campaign Slogan :
The Board of Trustees has approved the campaign slogan of “Growing Together – the United Way” as our theme for this year. As we reside in an agricultural county, we easily understand the concept of a seed planted in the field, given nourishment of fertilizer, rain and sunshine, and finally harvest happens. That same principle is what happens with the United Way. It takes everyone working together to achieve success and make a better Shelby County.
As depicted in the United Way trademark, a caring hand symbolizes the services and programs supported by United Way. By Living United, we have come together in the past and will continue to work together and reap the benefits of a community working and growing together.
